Collections can now be sent as gifts to your mafia members.
* Now you can trade collection items between your mafia members. Collections can be earned by trading between friends and completing jobs.
* When you collect 7 of the same item type you can vault the items to earn a unique bonus.

Facebook MafiaWars Game Updates March 26 2009
Game Updates – We have made a number of small changes to help improve the gameplay.
* We removed the current daily bonus in order to address game balance issues. We are currently working on a new bonus system, please stay tuned.
* We replaced the old mafia news section with the current news section in the hopes of improving usability.
* We corrected an issue that caused some browsers to crash when viewing the Top Families.
By spending Stamina you can attack an enemy’s property and steal money from the property. Robbing is harder than a fight, as you can only bring a number of Mafia members equal to your Level, even if you have more members in your Mafia.
When a property is protected (denoted by dark blue shields on the image) it has a higher Defense than normal. Each successful attack will remove one shield, damage the property, and reward you with money and experience. When a property is damaged too much it cannot be attacked further. The police arrive to break up the party.
This feature is still in BETA, and is unlocked at level 15.
Your assigned MafiaWars top mafia get benefits too!
Assign your best mafia members to positions within your mafia. Each position has a unique bonus which can be greater depending on who gets promoted to that position.
Mastermind – Choose a member with many jobs completed to promote to Mastermind to get more experience points from doing jobs. Your Mastermind gains a small chance of gaining 50% more experience when performing jobs.
Wheelman – Choose a member with the Fearless character type and a high level to promote to Wheelman to get a reduced energy cost for jobs. Your Wheelman gains a small chance to perform jobs for no energy.
Button Man – Choose a member with the Maniac character type and a high level to promote to Button Man to get an Attack bonus. Your Button Man gains a small chance to always win fights they initiate.
Bodyguard – Choose a member with many fights won to promote to Bodyguard to get a Defense bonus. Your Bodyguard gains a small chance to always win fights when they are attacked.
Safecracker – Choose a member with many successful heists to promote to Safecracker to get more money from fighting and robbing. Your Safecracker gains a small chance to gain double the money when fighting or robbing.
Bagman – Choose a member with the Mogul character type and a high level to promote to Bagman to get more money from jobs. Your Bagman gains a small chance to gain double the money when performing jobs.
As you’ve all noticed, Facebook MafiaWars has added Job Mastery levels to all Jobs.
You need to get to Tier 3 to be able to earn the “Master” tag on a certain job.
Here is the complete list of what items and benefits you get if you master a job in Facebook MafiaWars.
Street Thug (lvls 1 – 4)
If you master all of the level 3 “Street Thug” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Street Thug”.
Special Item: Pistol Bayonet – giving you +4% damage dealt in fights
Associate (lvls 5 – 
If you master all of the level 3 “Associate” jobs, you earn the title of “Master Associate”.
Special Item: Bugatti – giving you -7% damage received in fights
Soldier (lvls 9 – 12)
If you master all of the level 3 “Soldier” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Soldier”.
Special Item: Golden Skull – giving you a 30 second reduction on your health regen timer.
Enforcer (lvls 13 – 17)
If you master all of the level 3 “Enforcer” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Enforcer”.
Special Item: Money Plate – giving you a 5% discount on property purchases.
Hitman (lvls 18 – 24)
If you master all of the level 3 “Hitman” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Hitman”.
Special Item: Chainsaw Bayonet – giving you a 30 second reduction on your stanima regen timer.
Capo (lvls 25 – 34)
If you master all of the level 3 “Capo” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Capo”.

Consigliere (lvls 35 – 59)
If you master all of the level 3 “Consigliere” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Consigliere”.

Underboss (lvls 60 – 99)
If you master all of the level 3 “Underboss” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Underboss”.
Special Item: Private Island – giving you a 5% bonus on job experience.
Boss (lvls 100+)
If you master all of the level 3 “Boss” jobs,you earn the title of “Master Boss”.
Special Item: Golden Throne – giving you 2x the energy regenerated per regen period.
So, start mastering all those jobs to get all these benefits in Facebook MafiaWars.
The Mafia Wars development team is performing a planned server upgrade this evening between 10:00pm and 2am Pacific Time. During this upgrade the app will be offline and unavailable.
Expect normal service to resume between 2am and 2:30am Pacific Time.
As a result of these upgrades, expect to see some new and exciting features within the next few weeks.

Facebook Mafiawars March 11 2009 Developer Notes
Mafia Wars Community,
A great number of players have contacted us over the past few days reporting problems with the game and as the developers, we want to take some time out to address your concerns. First off, our sincere apologies for not sharing anything with you sooner. We have been so focused on trying to fix the problems that we haven’t taken any time out to speak up and let you know we’ve been hard at work attempting to address all of your concerns.
Now, here is our list of major problems and what we’re doing to fix them.
1. Pages don’t load/Refresh wheel is appearing constantly.
This is the result of the game becoming much more popular in the past couple weeks than we were able to predict coupled with some of the changes that Facebook is making to the platform. We are upgrading our servers as fast as we can to improve the performance of the app. Our team has been and will continue to work 7 days a week to solve this problem for our players.
2. Various rewards not showing up/Timers not displaying correctly.
Some rewards, especially those involving timers, require a page refresh to appear properly. The game is designed to minimize page refreshes in order to allow so many people to play simultaneously. Simply click a couple of tabs and the timers should adjust.
3. Players who cheat to get on the Top Families.
We are aware of such cheating and are taking appropriate actions to ban these players from the game as outlined in our Terms of Service. Going forward, to better facilitate communication between us and all of you, we will be putting up our own privately run forums. By running our own forums, we will be able to better moderate them which means less spam and more answers to your questions. Look for these in the next few weeks. Again, we would like to offer our apologies for the recent string of problems and reinforce that we are doing everything we can to increase the quality of the game.
